Returning your vehicle

Simply return your vehicle to a participating GM dealership at lease end. Use the helpful resources below throughout the process.

Get the best lease offers

Explore current deals from Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac and get on the road to your next vehicle.

*As stated in your lease contract, you may be charged a disposition fee, which prepares your vehicle for resale. This may be waived if you buy or lease a new GM vehicle or exercise the purchase option of the lease agreement.

**Your GM Financial lease agreement states that you have the option to buy your leased vehicle from a GM Financial designated party. We do not currently process lease purchase requests through non-GM dealerships.

Get Inspected: Plan Ahead

Schedule a pre-return inspection within 120 days of lease end for a report on wear and also how much you might owe at lease end.

Finish your lease confidently by knowing the condition of your vehicle with a convenient inspection that can be done at the dealership, your home or even your office.

If you have questions before you schedule your pre-return inspection or need other lease-end information, you can call us at 1-800-284-2271, or you can text LEASE to 53721 (message and data rates may apply).

Identifying Excess Wear

Hail damage or punctures
1 dent or 2 scratches (more than 4”)
Cracked glass or spidered cracks

Tears larger than ½”

Get in the Know: Lease-End Liability Invoice

About 60 to 90 days after you’ve returned your lease, watch for your lease liability invoice in the mail.

This invoice will highlight any applicable lease-end charges and fees, like your specific disposition fee that can be referenced in the consumer leasing disclosure section of your agreement, and excess wear or excess mileage.

You have several options when it comes to paying this invoice, including logging in to MyAccount. You can visit our payment options page to find the option that best fits your needs.

Get Going: Head to Your Dealership

When your lease end is right around the corner, head to your dealership and find the perfect vehicle for your next journey. If you lease or buy a new GM vehicle, the disposition fee may be waived.
